Job overview

Bohunt Horsham is a brand new, all-through school in Horsham. The school opened in temporary accommodation in September 2019 and will move to a state of the art, purpose-built school in 2021. We opened the school with a year 7 cohort of 120 and are already operating a waiting list.

We are proud to be part of the Bohunt Education Trust. BET’s approach to teaching and learning is innovative and immersive – a rich blend of the latest education thinking, technology and practice both in and outside the classroom. As a school we set the highest expectations for ourselves and our students and this is reflected in our results and the experiences of our pupils across the Trust.

Our ethos is simple: enjoy, respect, achieve. Above all we value a love of learning and actively promote the characteristics that make lifelong learners such as curiosity, hard work, critical thinking and a thirst for knowledge. We champion values that will ensure our learners make the world a better place including empathy, tolerance and kindness. Our students are empowered and supported which enables them to build the life skills such as resilience, confidence and courage, which will help them to overcome obstacles that may stand in the way of achieving their potential.

We are looking to expand our founding team and are seeking an excellent Science and Art Technician for January 2020. This varied role would suit someone with a keen interest or background in science. Experience within a technical role is preferable but not essential. This is an excellent opportunity for a D&T or Science Technician to help shape the development and infrastructure of practical subjects for the new school.

As a member of our founding staff team you will benefit from the support of our school and Trust leadership and will be well placed for a range of forthcoming career opportunities. Wednesday afternoons at Bohunt Horsham are dedicated to collaboration and professional progression; we are a close-knit team and we place a very high value on the development of our staff.

If you are highly organised, passionate about education, committed to supporting our team to run the school as efficiently and effectively as possible, enjoy variety in your role and enjoy the challenge of working in a dynamic environment this is a great opportunity for you.

The temporary school in Hurst Road is well-equipped with fully refurbished classrooms including a Science lab, Art room and associated prep rooms. Our 1:2:1 iPad scheme enables teachers to bring learning to life and engage our learners. We welcome visits from potential applicants; please contact us to arrange a tour at your convenience.

As a growing school, further recruitment opportunities will also be available in September 2020. For more information about Bohunt Horsham or the role please email  recruitment@bohunthorsham.com.

Application Deadline: 7 January 2020.

“Bohunt Education Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment”

“The successful candidate will be subject to pre-employment checks, including enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references”

As a Trust, we are happy o discuss flexible working opportunities.

We reserve the right to withdraw this vacancy at any time if there is a good level of response. Therefore, we recommend that you submit your application as early as possible.

Please be advised that references may be requested upon receipt of your application. Please state if you wish this to be delayed until shortlisting/interviews have taken place.
