The school is looking to appoint a creative teacher of Science and/or STEM from September 2019. Where do you want to take it?

Becoming part of Shaftesbury’s team is an opportunity for a candidate with an ambitious, big picture thinking approach to curriculum and design a STEM project from scratch alongside experts in the attached subjects. Shaftesbury’s leadership approach is Aligned Autonomy, trusting our teachers to deliver learning artistically, readying both staff and students for the 21st Century using Fullan’s 6Cs.

Shaftesbury High School supports 175 pupils aged 11 to 19 all with a wide range of complex special educational needs. Our vision is to carve pathways into society for each one of them. This is not just whilst at school but beyond it. To do this means a school of divergent thinkers- free from the constraints of the archaic industrial model in learning, self-development and leadership.

The rest of our new and innovative curriculum has a real purpose in readying our students for employability and life, and we are now seeking the last piece of the jigsaw to compliment those skills in the stepping forward into the future. We have a cohort of students who have a great interest in STEM related learning and are desperate for the right candidate to come in and support them to achieve their potential.

We will support the successful candidate in their professional development, with generous PPA, and a healthy budget and opportunities for peer collaboration.

Wellbeing is at the heart of our leadership and learning and we wish for quality teaching and a healthy work/life balance.

Shaftesbury High School is committed to safeguarding, inclusive practice and equal opportunities for all. All job offers will be subject to successful enhanced DBS checks and reference checks.

If you are interested in the position an application pack is available on our school website www.shaftesbury.harrow.sch.uk. Visits to the school are advised. Please book via the school office.

Closing Date: Tuesday 23rd April 2019.

Interview: Thursday 2nd May 2019 (Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted).
