Townley Grammar School is a multicultural girls’ selective school with specialism in Mathematics and Computing with Performing and Visual Arts.
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding full time Science Teacher (Chemistry, Physics or Biology) from September 2018.
We are looking for a suitably qualified teacher to join a highly successful science department where the subjects are very popular at Advanced Level. This is an excellent opportunity to educate bright and engaging students in a large and progressive selective school.
There are approximately 1500 students on roll, including a co-educational sixth form of over 400 of which approximately half of the sixth form students take a Science subject at A-level.
The ability to teach 2 sciences up to GCSE and a single science (Chemistry, Physics or Biology) to A Level is desirable.
Rated as Outstanding by OFSTED in November 2015, key findings include:

We have exciting and innovative relationships with science specialist schools in Russia and Japan; together with our science trip to CERN in Switzerland we offer exciting international opportunities to interested scientists.
We offer a full and robust induction programme for all new members of staff as part of the school’s Staff Development Programme with further support for staff new to the teaching profession. We encourage professional development across the school including opportunities to share ideas for improving teaching and learning.
