About Lordswood Boys’ School
Lordswood Boys’ School is part of the Central Academies Trust (CAT). CAT was formed in September 2017 to specifically sponsor Lordswood Boys’ School with one ambition in vastly improving the life chances of the young men the school serves. An educational Trust with members and directors drawn from the highest achieving and highest profile schools in Coventry and Birmingham. Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a Science teacher at any career stage with a proven track record of success in improving standards and raising pupil outcomes. We want to hear from talented teachers looking to extend their experience.
As a member of the Science team, you will work with the current science team, comprising the Head of Department, second in department and another science teachers to develop an exciting curriculum that suits every type of learner and have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of our young people. The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and motivational skills.
The successful candidate will be:
● A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
● You are dedicated Science teacher who is able to deliver all science disciplines to GCSE standard and contribute to whole school initiatives.
● You are creative and innovative.
● You have very high standards and can demonstrate excellent outcomes for students in your career to date.
● Have very high standards for their own performance and that of the students.
● Looking to work with driven and focussed leaders in the fastest and most substantially improved school in the UK.
● Be a strong student advocate.
● Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement
● Experience of innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse and progress learners.

The role will consist of the full range of pastoral activities with key areas being:
● Working in a team of Science teachers focusing on continue improvement of the quality of education.
● Planning, delivering, marking and assessing student progress.
● Supporting the wider Science team whilst working towards the department priorities.
● Working with an experienced Leadership Team to ensure optimum care for our most vulnerable students.
● Devising purposeful, insightful and high quality, thought provoking lessons.
● Contributing to data tracking systems to accurately monitor student progress with improving behaviour.
