Orchard School Bristol is a good school with strengths in leadership, behaviour and teaching and learning.  We are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic Science teacher to help build on our continuing success.

We always aim to make Science an inspiring and challenging experience. We have a good record in enabling students to progress successfully on to post 16 courses. Schemes of work within the department include opportunities to use and improve vital skills including; scientific enquiry, ICT, literacy and numeracy. At Key Stage 3 we follow a challenging 2 year course, aiming to suitably prepare our learners for the new Science GCSEs.

At Key Stage 4 we currently offer Edexcel Core, Additional GCSE, Further Additional Science GCSE and BTEC Applications of Applied Science. From September 2016, we will teach the AQA Double and Triple Science courses.

We are an exceptionally well resourced department:  we have 6 purpose built laboratories all of which have interactive whiteboards and data projectors, full laboratory services and mobile fume cupboards. We have access to a wide range of ICT resources including laptops, tablet computers, green screen technology and data logging equipment. Every member of staff is provided with a laptop computer from which they can access all materials for the KS3 and KS4 courses.
