Gateway is a thriving independent co educational prep school set in the heart of the Chilterns with 300 children. An opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated teacher of science with good communication skills has arisen, with a September 2019 start date.
This role requires a well-qualified science teacher who can instil a love of science in our Year 5 and 6 pupils. The ideal candidate should have experience of teaching Science and maths to upper KS2 pupils and hold a relevant degree plus/including QTS.
Key responsibilities
To teach Science in KS2, including some Common Entrance and Scholarship classes.
To teach Maths to a Year 5 or Year 6 set
To contribute to the Science Department’s ongoing development by attending subject meetings and contributing to whole department’s initiatives.
To liaise with pastoral tutors to feedback on issues which could affect a child’s progress in Science.
