We are a student-centred school that recognises that our staff have the authority, expertise and passion to bring our vision to life.
Due to the school’s expansion and growth in student numbers, we seek to appoint an ambitious, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our experienced and diverse Science Department. Whilst having a real passion for teaching and learning, we are looking for an innovative and committed classroom practitioner who can teach exceptional Science at Key Stage 3 and 4 with the skills and abilities to engage and enthuse all learners. The opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 classes will be available to suitably experienced practitioners.
This is an exciting period to join The Buckingham School; we have just completed 2.5 million pounds of renovation work within the school, with more remodelling and renovation of the school premises planned in the near future. We have seen steady improvement in all areas of the school over the past three years and we will continue in our quest to become the community school of choice within the locality. We are ambitious, oversubscribed and our students are fantastic to work with.
Applications are welcome from ECTs as well as experienced teachers. We have a proven track record of support and development and an excellent ECT package is available.
In return, we will offer you:
- A professional, supportive and experienced Team
- A personalised approach to Continuing Professional Development
- A role in a school that has a clear vision
- The opportunity to work with students who possess excellent attitudes to learning
- A learning environment that is ambitious, collaborative and forward-thinking

Ofsted report
“Sixth-form learners’ achievement has improved because teaching is better in practically all subjects. Learners are very good role models for younger pupils and contribute much to school life. Pastoral care, especially in Year 7 and for those who have special educational needs or disability, is very supportive. Practically all pupils enjoy school and behave well. They all feel safe. The school prepares pupils very well for their future health and safety. Career advice is good. Pupils successfully learn about spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues blended with an understanding of citizenship and British values. In many lessons, pupils work extremely hard and are totally absorbed by high-quality and challenging teaching.”
