The Role - Science Teacher (Qualified):
We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Science who will have a significant impact on the learning of pupils with additional needs. The role will involve working with all years, delivering a variety of high quality Science lessons.
The successful candidate will work in a secure and supportive environment that helps pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties overcome their challenges.
The position requires a candidate who can build relationships with children with SEMH difficulties and work in collaboration with colleagues to create an inclusive and supportive environment that is conducive to learning.
Key Responsibilities - Science Teacher (Qualified):
Teach a Science curriculum that promotes literacy, creativity, and academic progress for all students
Ensure that Science lessons are well-planned, sequenced, and relevant to the needs of Impact North West Schools students
Monitor and assess student progress in Science, using data to inform teaching strategies and interventions
Embed literacy skills across the Science curriculum, developing resources as needed
Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment, using trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches
Set goals that stretch and challenge pupils of all backgrounds and abilities.
Work collaboratively with pastoral teams to address barriers to learning and promote emotional resilience
Organise enrichment activities to inspire students and foster a love of learning
Provide leadership and guidance to the Science department, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to teaching and learning
What We Are Looking For - Science Teacher (Qualified):
We are seeking individuals who have:
Flexible around the needs of the school and pupils.
A committed Teacher and work in line with the school behaviour policy.
Able to modify challenging behaviour in a firm but supportive manner.
Child centred.
Flexible with a good sense of humour.
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the Science curriculum, including current best practices and research.
An ability to be flexible in the subjects that are taught.
Excellent teaching and assessment skills, with the ability to adapt to the needs of SEMH students
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families
Data analysis and interpretation skills, to use assessment information to inform teaching and learning
Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to share best practises with colleagues
Ability to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment, using trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
