Job overview
Stensballeskolen is a local community school with approximately 850 pupils between the ages 6-16. We are currently in the second year of a 3 year pilot of the International Class. We wish to extend the opportunity to our new grade 7 students and anticipate at least 1 class of 24 students and so require an additional International teacher.
At the school we meet our pupils with high expectations and their performance in the national tests and in their final grade 9 exams are above the National average. Our pupils come from homes with a reliable social and economic background, and we enjoy sound, supportive communication between the school and home.
The pupils will study Science, Geography and Mathematics in English. The school provides some English textbooks though the national Danish curriculum must be followed in all subjects, schemes of work have been written in English, as when the pupils reach the end of grade 9 they must sit their final exams on equal terms with their year group.
Stensballe is a suburb of Horsens, a town with a population of approximately 60,000 and situated at the head of the Horsens Fjord. Stensballeskolen is situated near the sea and parks and has excellent sporting facilities.
We require a dedicated and motivated teacher, who is willing to commit to a full time position at Stensballeskolen. The suitable applicant must be prepared to sign up for a 1 year contract and speak English as your mother tongue. This situation provides a unique chance to extend your experience of teaching with a different approach to learning, student achievement and a better work-life balance.
Required: QTS or it could suit a NQT
Salary for a NQT: Euro 48.400 – per annum
