Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated, innovative, full-time teacher of Chemistry for September 2016. The ideal candidate will be passionate about their subject, ambitious for their department and willing to support the Catholic ethos of the Centre for Learning. The appointment would ideally suit candidates with a proven track record in teaching Chemistry at KS3 and 4.

The successful candidate will benefit from the latest innovations in classroom technology and state-of-the-art equipment in our Science hub which opened at Easter 2015 (a half a million pound investment).

You will be required to demonstrate the following;

  • Drive, enthusiasm and vision
  • A commitment to raising standards and attainment
  • A willingness to take risks and support innovation
  • Innovative teaching and a commitment to sharing good practice
  • The ability to make inclusion a reality for all students
  • Experience of teaching at KS3 and 4
  • A willingness to become immersed in professional learning
  • A contribution to developing the department

St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Centre for Learning (VA) has affirmed that it aims to provide its students a high-quality education, which draws its distinctive character from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as well as Catholic traditions. 

The school intends to create a supportive and challenging learning environment for its students. There is a continual emphasis on tailoring the school curriculum to suit individual needs whilst at the same time being beneficial for all students.

The school also encourages participation in extra-curricular activities. Both girls and boys take part in competitive sports such as football and netball and the school’s gardening club has received much praise, winning awards at events.
