We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Science. You will have good subject knowledge, a passion for Science, and want students to love Science as much as we do. As a member of the Outwood Family you will share our vision of “Students First”.
At Ouwood Academy Ormesby, our science team is striving to offer an excellent science education to students of all ages and abilities. Our friendly and committed team are subject specialists and are driven by the desire to ensure that all learners make good progress in every lesson. They offer popular enrichments and regular whole school competitions celebrating the exciting world of science. The department benefits from four labs and two specialist classrooms. The team is supported by an OGAT director of science who provides bespoke CPD, coaching and mentoring to all colleagues.
You will contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, optimism, celebration and mutual support in the school which promotes equality within, and values the diversity of the school community.

OGAT are proud to be a part of the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) hosting its North and East campus as Outwood Academy Redcar and Outwood Academy Adwick. The NIoT identifies best practice in education, in order to develop cutting-edge, evidence-based teacher training and professional development programmes. OGAT colleagues will benefit from the work of the institute, which draws on the expertise of some of the most outstanding school leaders in education today. For our ECT colleagues a full and detailed programme of support and development, including science subject specialism support will be provided.

We are an 11-16 academy based in the large, north-east town of Middlesbrough.
The academy received a good judgement in their 2017 Ofsted inspection. However in July 2022 the academy was given a notice to improve judgement. Leadership has significantly changed and a comprehensive improvement plan has been implemented to secure sustainable long term change for the academy.
