AND you could be entitled to either:

Levelling up payment: £4000 per annum from September 2024 for chemistry and physics teachers

OR

Early Career payment: £2000-3000 per annum until 31 August 2025

About Academy

This is a diverse and vibrant 11-16 academy, based in the friendly, north-east town of Middlesbrough.

They are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. They place students at the centre of everything they do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.

About the Science Department

The Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to join their Science department. This is a permanent Regional contract, initially starting to cover a period of maternity leave: which will likely run from September 2024 to Summer 2025. If there isn’t curriculum demand in Science in Sept 2025, the appointee will then be deployed into another Academy within the Region – consisting of Ormesby, Redcar, Bydales, Riverside, Acklam and Bishopsgarth. They would hope that from September 2025, they will be able to, in negotiation with the appointee, fix a permanent base for teaching employment.

The Science department is a young, enthusiastic, supportive team who are keen to instil a love of learning within their students and strive for constant improvement. Each member of their department works collaboratively to produce good teaching and learning resources to reduce your workload and allow you to have the utmost confidence when teaching outside of your specialism.

If you join their team you will be teaching in your own laboratory which is fully equipped with your own specialised equipment and managed by their two experienced technicians who will help you make all of your lessons engaging and exciting.

They would love to hear from teachers interested in creating a warm, interesting and inclusive learning environment, where students feel safe and inspired. Are you dedicated, with a sense of humour? Are you keen to work with a team on planning great learning experiences and contributing to a culture of improvement and development? Their academy is the place for you!

The right candidate will be able to make a significant difference to the lives of their students and share their single goal of ‘Students First Raising Standards and Transforming Lives’. They positively welcome applications from all sections of the community, who love Science and have a passion to develop this in others. You could progress quickly across their Family of Schools if that was what you were looking for, through leadership or through their Deeps structure; but, if you just want to be the best Science teacher you can be, then they are also the school for you!

Interview date: 20 May 2024.
