Science Teacher

We are responsible for the education outcomes at this school for students between the ages of 8 and 18. We provide education for up to 12 students, resident at local care homes.  Offering learners the opportunity to work with specialist trained staff in small group settings.

We require a teacher that is well motivated and enthusiastic to join our supportive Education Staff Team.  We are looking for a qualified teacher with a passion for working with students with additional needs or who has an interest in professionally developing this aspect of their work.

We are a small rural school offering the national curriculum, so flexibility to teach a range of subjects will be required. Experience of teaching Science to GCSE is essential. Candidates for this role will need to have QTS or equivalent and will have experience in teaching at Key Stages 3 and 4. Teaching at KS5 may also be required, but experience is not essential.

The job role will include:

• Leading the planning and delivery of learning in Science across KS3, KS4 and possibly KS5
• Setting achievable but challenging targets for individual pupils
• Assessing and recording pupil progress
• Reporting outcomes and progress

Some of our students can exhibit challenging behaviour and the successful candidate will need to show they have the ability to adopt a sensitive disposition when responding to situations where students are presenting with these difficulties.

Successful candidates will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post.
