The Hawthorns School is a thriving prep day school for children between the ages of 2 and 13. Located on an idyllic 35-acre estate in Bletchingley, Surrey, our mission is to prepare each child for life and to inspire a love of learning.
We are seeking a highly motivated and inspirational teacher with a passion and depth of knowledge to join our Science Department in September 2021 for a maternity cover position. Responsible for teaching high quality lessons to pupils in Years 5 to 8, including preparing pupils for scholarship and senior school examinations, candidates should have a suitable teaching qualification and relevant experience of teaching science to children in KS2 and KS3.
Candidates should have a strong academic vision, inspire high standards in the classroom, show initiative and be prepared for wider involvement in co-curricular activities. A desire and ability to offer the teaching of Computing as an additional subject would be considered favourably. The ability to lead the department would also be advantageous.
