Teacher of Science. 

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive SEN school, based in Nottinghamshire. The school is looking to add a Teacher of Science to its progressive and supportive School Department.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of Science at GCSE. They are searching for a teacher experienced in teaching KS2 who shares their vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.

“The School caters for children aged 11-18 and aims to grow to 49 pupils.  You will be responsible for planning and delivering various subjects across the curriculum. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives.

They are part of the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist education, foster care and residential care for vulnerable children and young people. The Group leads their sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in their care."

The school is offering:

• A super supportive and highly visible SLT team and Headteacher;

• On-going CPD with programmes of study 

• Progression support throughout the school and wider group

• Support package for NQT’s/RQT’s including CPD and NQT mentorship;

• the chance to take on further responsibility such as TLR or Leadership roles in the future.

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A relevant Science Degree or a related subject

• Experience in delivering Science up to GCSE pushing and engaging learners to progress within the subject

• A love and passion for education.

• Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important
