37 hours per week (Monday to Friday – 8.00am start time) 

Grade 4 (points 17 to 21), full time salary range £17,772 to £20,138 plus Lab Tech allowance of £201 per annum 

Pro rata salary £14,700.12 to £16,657.16 plus £166.26 Lab Tech allowance (based on under 5 years local government continuous service) 

Contract start date: Monday 30 October 2017 (or as soon as possible after this date)  

The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic person to work as a member of the Science Technicians team at this very popular and successful secondary school of 1,700 students (335 in the Sixth Form). The purpose of the role is to provide technical support to the Science Department and have shared responsibility for the usage, preparation and maintenance of all science practical equipment.  The post holder will take particular responsibility for servicing the requirements for Chemistry, up to and including A Level.  

We are looking for a good team player with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to achieving high standards.  The post holder will possess relevant qualifications and to have had experience in a similar environment would be an advantage.  The working hours will be discussed at interview, however the start time will be 8.00am Monday to Friday, with a minimum 30 minutes/maximum 60 minutes unpaid lunch break.

Canon Slade School is a mixed 11-18 voluntary aided Church of England secondary school and a member of The Bishop Fraser Multi Academy Trust.  There are around 1700 pupils, including some 350 in the sixth form.
