Queen’s Gate is an independent day school offering an excellent all-round education to girls from 4 to 18. We are a relatively small school with just over 500 pupils, but one which is rich in tradition and at the same time abundant with the energy and spirit of the 21st century. Science is taught throughout the School, with separate Sciences in the Senior School. Our girls achieve very good results in the Sciences with a number reading Science or Science related subjects at University. We have six Science laboratories which are modern and well-equipped.
We wish to appoint a Science Technician from 1st September 2018 to support the teaching and learning in our Science Department from KS3 to A-level. This will include preparation and maintenance of resources and equipment under the instruction of teaching staff.
The position will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during term-time, but limited work will be required at the beginning and end of each term.
The successful applicant will be educated to A-level or equivalent in a Science subject, preferably Physics. A degree specialism in Science or a Science background would be preferable. Proven experience of working in a Physics Laboratory and excellent Physics knowledge is essential. The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and have the ability to prioritise busy workloads and work effectively under pressure.
