Our School

Newstead Wood School is a high-achieving grammar school for girls with a mixed Sixth Form. We are situated in Orpington in the London Borough of Bromley and there are excellent rail links to both London Bridge and Victoria Stations.

We are seeking to appoint as soon as possible a well-qualified Science Technician to join our team. We would like a technician to work predominantly in Chemistry and Key Stage 3. Hours of work are 36 per week for 39 weeks per year. Part time or job share applications will be considered.

Students at Newstead are highly motivated and very capable. As a result, lessons move at a fast pace and students are routinely challenged in their thinking. Science is a popular subject and students come to their lessons with high expectations and a desire for active and complex learning.

There are four science prep rooms and a total of six technicians (full and part time) who support teaching and learning across KS3 – 5.

About Newstead Wood School

Newstead Wood is a highly selective girls’ state secondary school, with a co-educational Sixth Form, close to Orpington Station, with direct links to London. Our catchment radius covers a wide, rich range of socio-economic and ethnic areas: over 40% of students are from ethnic minorities and many of our students will be the first of their families to enter Higher Education.
