Hours per Week: 20, Term Time Only plus 4 weeks (42 weeks)
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced Science Technician to provide support across the Life Sciences department, an expanding, successful and highly motivated team. The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience of working in a laboratory (preferably within a school or college setting) and a science background or relevant science qualification.
The successful candidate will work effectively both as part of a team and under their own direction, supporting a large and successful curriculum area with a wide variety of resources. The main purpose of the role is to support with the preparation for practical work in line with the curriculum, including the setting up of equipment and apparatus in the laboratories and classrooms. Other responsibilities include assisting in ensuring that appropriate stock levels of equipment, apparatus, materials and chemicals are checked periodically and maintained, and assisting in maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the department.
