The Governors of this highly successful and heavily oversubscribed academy, which has just been named as “outstanding” in HMCI’s Report dated October 2017, are looking to appoint an experienced Science Technician to cover maternity absence.

Our school has a proven track record of outstanding success and is one of the top 100 non-selective state funded schools in England based on our current GCSE results with 94.9% of pupils gaining 5+ standard passes and 93% gaining 5+ standard passes including English and Maths. The school’s A Level results, following the opening of a Sixth Form in September 2013, are just as outstanding with 62.7% achieving A*-B and 89.8% achieving A*-C. Our Progress 8 score is +1.02. In Science, 56% of all GCSE grades are A* or A and our A level results are above the national average in all sciences. Our school also leads the successful West London Teaching Schools’ Alliance.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Science Technician who will help with the running of the Science Department, aiding students in the safe use of equipment and contributing to the maintenance of equipment plus the preparation of materials including chemicals used in the lessons. This appointment is to cover the maternity leave of the substantive post holder and is expected to last until 31st October 2018.

The ability to use a range of scientific equipment would be advantageous together with a knowledge of relevant health and safety issues, but training will be given.

If you would like to work in a school like this, we look forward to hearing from you.

The closing date is Monday, 27th November at 9am and interviews will be held either later that week or the week beginning 4th December.

Please contact the school or email sfinneran@sacredh.lbhf.sch.uk. The application form and supporting documentation can be found via the TES www.tes.com

SHHS is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service certificate will be requested for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education legislation.
