Set in beautiful grounds in the Kent countryside with first-class facilities, we are a thriving, well-resourced day, and flexible boarding school for 450 boys and girls aged 2 to 16.
We are now seeking an experienced Science Technician, ideally with previous experience of working in a School prep room/laboratory, to join the team from April 2025, and support the practical and technical aspects of the senior School Science curriculum.
Working closely with all staff across the Science department, the successful candidate will primarily be responsible for ensuring all equipment and resources are prepared, managed and organised, safely and securely, before and after any planned practical lessons.
We are open to the potential for a job-share arrangement depending on candidates.
The successful candidate will have a scientific qualification, relevant GCSEs or A levels or experience within a science setting.
You will also have a natural interest in the sciences, a good understanding of health and safety regulations and strong attention to detail.
Main responsibilities
- Preparing materials and equipment for science lessons
- Maintaining science equipment, ensuring safety standards
- Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions
- Managing stock and oversee health and safety compliance
There is some flexibility in working hours from April – July 2025 (start time between 8.15am – 8.30am and end time between 4pm – 4.15pm), however the successful candidate must be able to commit to working 40 hours per week from September, from 8.15am – 4.45pm, Monday – Friday.
