Job overview

Perryfields High School is a popular 11-18 school with a large and vibrant Science Department. The department is looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic laboratory technician to work within our team to support teaching and learning.

Your main responsibilities – 

Preparation of materials, stock required for demonstrations and class practical work;

Making appropriate risk assessments;

Maintaining a good stock of the necessary materials for the construction of scientific apparatus;

Cleaning and sterilising apparatus, maintaining apparatus and equipment in good working order and carrying out repairs;

Constructing and modifying laboratory apparatus, testing new experiments;

Operating laboratory documentation systems and assisting with the maintenance of computer records.
