The Portsmouth Grammar School is a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth. The school is an IB World School and offers the IB Diploma alongside A Level.  

The school is renowned for its scientific tradition, and the department is located in a state of the art Science Centre. An opportunity has arisen for a science technician to join the department from January 2018.  

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a laboratory and/or have a relevant scientific qualification. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will be prepared to work across all three sciences.  

This is a part-time post for 15 hours each week, term-time only. The hours of work are Thursdays and Fridays, 8.30am to 4.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunchbreak.

A DBS check at enhanced level will be required.

ISI Report 2022

During an ISI Inspection in late 2022 both the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development and the personal development of the pupils were found to be excellent - the highest possible classification. The Inspection also looked at the School’s compliance with the regulatory standards and requirements. PGS met all the standards required.
