Job overview
King George V College is looking for a reliable and organised individual to join our vibrant Science Department as a Technician.
As a Science Technician, you will provide technical support across a range of Science disciplines, including Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. You will work in a number of laboratories across the two college sites, assisting lecturing staff in practical situations where required. Other duties include stores management, general maintenance, and Health and Safety checks and procedures.
You will also work closely with the Curriculum Leaders and course teams to advise of any curriculum needs. The College will provide relevant training and updates in order to support the post holder.
You will possess an advanced qualification in a field of science, or other relevant qualifications combined with industrial experience in a relevant area. Previous experience of working as a Science Technician, as well as previous laboratory experience is essential. You will also need a good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation/procedures acquired from a similar science/technician role.
