We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our dedicated team to support the Science provision to deliver exceptional lessons.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing practical and administrative support for the teaching of science and duties will include assisting with the preparation of materials and equipment for use in Science lessons and the routine maintenance of resources and equipment.
This is a busy role and will require the postholder to have strong practical skills, be conscious of health and safety and the ability to work flexibly with a positive "can-do" attitude and cope with competing demands. You should also have a commitment and interest in the wellbeing, support and achievement of students with the ability to establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
A technician/laboratory background or experience of working in an educational setting would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
This post may be ideal for gap year students who possess/are working towards a science qualification or who have a general interest in Science.
- Minimum of 32.5 hours and up to 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday,
- term time plus 2 days (38.4 working weeks)
- Actual Salary starting from £15,692 - £17,685 (dependent on agreed hours)
- (based on a full-time equivalent salary of £21,189 per annum)

About Haygrove School
Haygrove School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school in Bridgwater, Somerset. At its most recent inspection, there were 1,106 students aged 11-16 on the school roll.
There has been a school on the Durleigh Road site since the establishment of Dr Morgan’s Grammar School. The grammar school became the co-educational Haygrove School in 1973. Haygrove converted to academy status in 2011.
The town of Bridgwater has a population of 41,200 and is located to the west of the Quantocks. Haygrove School is situated next to St Mary’s Primary School.

Attendance is above average and shows a trend of improvement, while exclusions have fallen dramatically and are now at a low level. The very large majority of parents and carers feel that their child is safe at the academy and that the standard of behaviour is good.”
