Occupying extensive and purpose-built laboratories, the Science department strives to excite and fulfil curiosity in the physical world. The Science department aims to:
- Stimulate interest in all branches of Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Sports and Environmental Science) among the pupils through relevant and exciting lessons, with an emphasis on practical skills and understanding.
- Deliver schemes of work linked to but beyond the National Curriculum.
- Optimise exam performance of pupils of all abilities.
- Encourage more pupils to continue the study of Science at university.
The purpose of the role is to support the academic staff in the smooth running of the department, offering technical assistance to staff and pupils in and out of lessons. Previous experience in a school environment would be an advantage.
