Permanent role – 31 hours/5 days per week, term time only

The Science Department is looking to recruit a Science Technician to start as soon as possible but no later than 3rd January 2017.

The Faculty offers A-levels in Physics, Biology and Chemistry, BTEC Subsidiary Diplomas in Applied Biology and Forensic Science, and BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science. Technical support for practical lessons is provided from three dedicated prep rooms, each of which is managed by a Technician in Charge. All science lessons take place in a suite of eight recently-refurbished laboratories.

You will be required to prepare practical work as requested by teaching staff in accordance with the College’s Health and Safety Policy and risk assessments, and to maintain science resources.

There are opportunities to support students’ learning by demonstrating practical techniques to classes and by providing assistance during practical lessons.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a science environment is essential.
