We are looking for a dedicated Technician to join our thriving Science Department at Woodkirk Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing (and where appropriate manufacturing) teaching materials as required to ensure effective support for teaching staff in the Science Department. You will ensure that all Science experiments are properly prepared and materials are maintained to ensure that students are receiving high quality Science lessons.  The working hours are 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 3.30pm on Friday, term time only plus 25 days.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a school environment as a Science Technician and either will be aware of the Health and Safety involved in the role or be a graduate with considerable laboratory experience looking to enter into an education environment. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to gain in-school experience to pursue a career in teaching.

All posts are subject to pre-employment checks, two references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check (DBS), medical clearance and provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK and evidence of qualifications.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
