The Stockwood Park Academy are currently looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic second in charge in Maths who wants to make a real difference in supporting students and furthering the success of the department. We are on a really exciting journey of growth and development, and our Maths team are passionate about delivering the curriculum in an engaging, lively, and inspiring way and we are, therefore, looking for someone who is aligned to our approaches.

We are now looking for an experienced and motivated second in charge in Maths who is aligned with our educational vision and can support in leading the Maths Faculty to achieve excellent outcomes.  


At Stockwood Park, we are in the process of defining what effective and excellent teaching looks like via an Explicit Direct Instruction lesson framework: an evidence-informed compilation of best teaching practices. We want to focus on a small number of things based on our framework and work to master them in our practice. We have called these our ‘teacher 10’: 10 Explicit Direct Instruction plays designed as a simple walk-through of how to execute specific classroom practices that will improve our teaching. We welcome and encourage school tours to ensure that you are aligned to our explicit approaches.

Key Duties


·       Responsible for KS3/4 (dependent on experience/skill set/expertise).

·    Leading on T&L across the Maths Department by supporting and promoting teaching and learning approaches throughout the day to day working.

·       To set high expectations for all pupils, to deepen their knowledge and understanding and to maximise their achievement.

·       To use a variety of methods and approaches to match curricular objectives and the range of pupil needs and ensure equal opportunity for all pupils.

·       To ensure continuity, progression, and cohesiveness in all teaching.

·       To assess pupils’ work systematically and use the results to inform future planning, teaching, and curricular development.

·       To have a thorough, and up-to-date, knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications for examination courses.

·       To support with assessment, standardisation, and intervention programmes where applicable.


 


The successful candidate will have


·       A love of Mathematics and able to teach both KS3 and KS4 with a minimum of 4-5 Years experience.

·       Resilient, hardworking, and experience of a diverse, fast-paced multi-cultural school with good behaviour management.

·       Demonstrate an understanding of and take responsibility for promoting high standards of literacy, articulacy, and the correct use of standard English.

·       Excellent Knowledge of Curriculum design, Planning & Assessing.

·       Ability to monitor and evaluate teaching and learning.

·       Ability to deliver high quality lessons, evaluate the impact of these and develop future planning accordingly.

·       Ability to support teachers.

·       Excellent communication and team-working skills

·       Passion, creativity, and energy towards your subject area and educating young people.

·       Aligned to school vision and values.

·       Ability to contribute towards and lead whole staff CPD.

·       Ideally, we are looking for an experienced teacher who can support ECT’s.
