We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional practitioner to join us as Second in Charge of Design Technology from September 2024 on a full-time, permanent basis. We are looking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious teacher, with the necessary knowledge, expertise and experience of teaching Design Technology across the key stage 3 and key stage 4 age and ability range.

We require a teacher with an area of specialism in teaching Product Design/Resistant Materials. Computer literacy is essential, and a basic knowledge of CAD/CAM within Design and Technology is desired. Experience of teaching across the Technology disciplines of Food Studies and Textiles is welcomed.

This position offers a fulfilling opportunity of working closely with the Faculty Lead and contributing to the development of a shared, strategic vision and Faculty Development Plan.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding professional who is able to demonstrate high standards for teaching and learning so that students of all abilities are enthused, challenged, and motivated to succeed. They will join a vibrant and forward-thinking team, dedicated to raising aspirations and improving outcomes for our students

The school, who achieved the Ofsted rating ‘Good’ in January 2020, is located within easy reach of central London via the District Line and easily accessible via the A13. There is a high-quality induction and extensive in-house CPD program available to staff as part of our strong commitment to staff development. All staff have access to the café facilities and regular social events organised by the Wellbeing Committee.

Dagenham Park Church of England School continues to be a good school.

Leaders have reviewed what they want pupils to learn and when they want them to learn  it in all subject areas. This means that learning is planned and sequenced so that pupils  can remember more and develop their skills. Leaders’ actions mean that pupils achieve  well at this school. Teachers check that pupils can recall previous lessons through ‘do  now’ activities. Teachers implement leaders’ plans well. Pupils’ books include good-quality  work and show how the pupils are learning the planned subject content. Teachers and  pupils assess the work in books and pupils correct their mistakes and misunderstandings
