London Academy of Excellence (LAE) is seeking to recruit an experienced teacher of A-level mathematics to join this ambitious, selective sixth form. LAE is in an Outstanding, heavily oversubscribed school located in the heart of Stratford, close to the Olympic Park and just two minutes from Stratford Station (zone 2/3), with excellent links to all parts of London.

LAE is the top ranked sixth form provider in England to offer a full A level curriculum, according to the Sunday Times Parent Power Survey 2022. The school is particularly proud of its success in helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain places at the finest universities in the UK and around the world. Over 1,200 of our alumni have progressed to Russell Group universities and over 120 to Oxford or Cambridge. 

The role

We seek a well-qualified and confident teacher of A-level mathematics to support the lead teacher of this large and successful department. In addition to teaching a slightly reduced timetable of mathematics and further mathematics, the successful candidate will line manage the Mathematician in Residence as well as lead on all extra-curricular aspects including the LAE Maths Scholar Programme, Maths Challenges, and preparation for university entrance exams. They will also have oversight of the department bulletin for students and delivery of half termly assessments.  This a rare and exciting opportunity to work alongside six highly skilled mathematicians in one of the country’s most successful A level departments.
