Our newly appointed Director of Mathematics is currently managing the transition from teaching in ability sets to mixed ability teaching in line with the school’s ethos. We expect all our pupils to make outstanding progress, regardless of prior attainment. We are seeking a Second in Charge of Mathematics to support with this transition and the associated pedagogic and curriculum challenges, and to maintain this relentless focus on the progress and outcomes of all pupils. 

The successful candidate will be adaptable and highly ambitious, setting challenging goals for themselves, the department and all of our pupils. Experience of mixed ability teaching in maths is not a requirement, but a commitment to meet the needs of all of our diverse learners in a dynamic mixed ability environment is essential.
