Are you a passionate and inspiring Science teacher looking to take the next step in your career? John Flamsteed Community School is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Second in Science to support the leadership of our successful Science department. 

John Flamsteed Community School is a popular school located in mid Derbyshire close to Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield and within easy reach of the Peak District. We are part of the East Midlands Education Trust and work in close partnership with other schools in the Trust. We offer a broad, balanced and vibrant curriculum that prepares our students very well for the modern world.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Science to drive high standards and excellence across all areas of the department, contributing to the strategic development of Science within the school. This is an exciting opportunity for a reflective and ambitious teacher with a passion for promoting a lifelong love of Science among pupils.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. About John Flamsteed Community School

John Flamsteed Community School is a mixed, mainstream, non-denominational secondary school in Denby, Derbyshire. It caters to students aged 11 to 16 and has approximately 852 pupils enrolled.

John Flamsteed Community School was founded in 1894 as Smithy Houses School. It reopened under its current name in 1981.
