Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a professional and talented Second in Department for Science.  In addition to the requirements of a class teacher of Science you will be accountable for appropriate areas within the Science department (depending on skills and experience) and to support, hold accountable, develop and lead a team of people focusing on Science.  

The Academy has recently been judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is now working towards becoming ‘Outstanding’, as such our student population is also increasing bringing about various exciting opportunities.  The Academy is based in Carlisle, and is housed within a new building with state-of-the-art facilities.  There is a strong team ethos with a focus on excellent teaching and learning working on whole school strategies to drive up standards.
