The Cavendish School is very proud to be relaunching as a brand new academy in September 2018, as part of the Future Academies Trust. The successful candidate will be an exceptional teacher and an inspirational leader with a commitment to professional development. You will be responsible for ensuring every student achieves academic excellence.

As we join Future Academies we will need to grow our EBacc offer in our curriculum throughout the school. With this in mind and a higher intake for our Year 7 in September 2018, we will need to increase our staff body in certain subjects.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, determined and creative Second in Department. This is an exciting full time opportunity to work alongside our Director of Learning within a professional and collaborative faculty team. We pride ourselves on being an approachable and dedicated English faculty, who deliver engaging lessons in which our students are able to thrive. We are committed to all students making progress and the sharing of ideas, good practice and innovative resources. We currently deliver AQA GCSE English and Literature and AQA English Literature, Specification B linear course to post-16 students.

The successful candidate will have;

  • A passion for teaching English;
  • Experience of teaching KS3 and KS4 English;
  • The ability to raise achievement in key stage four;
  • The ability to demonstrate that they have the creativity in the facilitation of engaging and challenging lessons;
  • The highest aspirations & expectations for your students, yourself and our school.
