Second in  English

From September 2017 +TLR2C (£6386.00)

English at Wheatley Park is growing in success and confidence.  We have an established Head of Faculty and are now looking for the ideal Second in Faculty to help make this strong team into an outstanding one. Our busy and vibrant school achieved Ofsted ‘Good’ in 2016 and the English team’s future success will be a key factor in taking us to the next level. With committed and capable teachers, an outstanding teaching environment and excellent resources, your leadership will be able to make a difference.

The ideal candidate will be a confident teacher and leader who has a passion for learning, high standards and the ability to lead others, motivating them to keep aiming higher. You will be   committed to the achievement of every student, with experience of planning for all learners to progress. You will be someone who can help build a team ethos of mutual challenge and support.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right person: the English team has skill, experience and commitment, and our students are engaging and positive. There have been a number of new   initiatives recently and you will therefore be building on a strong foundation. You will be able to develop your own profile and contribute your ideas, and we will help you to develop, with excellent opportunities for career progression. The English and Media Centre is a new, purpose-built facility which is an outstanding environment.

Wheatley Park is situated just outside the City of Oxford, and is a vibrant and supportive school with an increasing track record of success, recently graded “Good’ in an Ofsted inspection, with much positive feedback. We are determined to build on this. We have a mixed rural and urban intake and   we are well supported by our community, who recognise the considerable improvements that have taken place in recent years. Our students are happy at school and motivated to succeed, and our staff work well together, providing a collaborative and professional ethos.
