Applications are invited for the permanent post of Second in Geography. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring classroom practitioner with a real passion for Geography.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about their subject and determined to impart knowledge, skills and understanding to all our young people through our Teaching for Understanding curriculum. Being a committed and imaginative teacher, you will support the rapid and on-going developments within the faculty as we strive to improve attainment across the key stages.
Applications are invited from teachers who wish to develop their career within a supportive environment. Understanding the importance of excellent learning and teaching, you will have a genuine regard for young people and high professional standards. In addition to the standard expectations of a classroom Geography teacher, the Second in Geography will ensure the best possible learning and outcomes for pupils in Geography supporting the Head of Department as directed.
The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of teaching and learning across the key stages, an ability to identify issues and devise innovative solutions, and will demonstrate outstanding classroom practice. They will also have enthusiasm and energy, effective interpersonal skills, the desire to develop their skills in a leadership position and the ability to make a major contribution to the progress of students.
