Job overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Second in Charge of Learning Support to support our SENDCo in delivering a high‑quality SEND provision across the school. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student progress and inclusion across Years 7–13.

This role involves:

  • Supporting the SENDCo in the day-to-day running of the Learning Support department.

  • Contributing to the strategic development of SEND provision and inclusion.

  • Helping oversee the identification and support of students with SEND.

  • Delivering targeted interventions.

  • Contributing to staff training and inclusive teaching practice.

  • Building strong relationships with students, families, and external professionals.

  • Supporting the management of exam access arrangements.

To be successful, you will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status.

  • Have experience working with high-achieving SEND students.

  • Have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be confident and able to work in a team and lead colleagues.

  • Ideally hold the National Award for SEN Coordination or be willing to achieve it.
