Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Second in Charge of Mathematics on a full-time permanent basis from April 2022.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a co-educational secondary school, located in the town of Grimsby, Lincolnshire. The school has an economically diverse catchment area, a fact reflected in its student intake. It was established in the 1960s, adopting its current name in 2007 upon its conversion to an academy. The school is now part of a multi-academy trust responsible for a large number of schools across the Midlands and the north of England.
The trust has grown to a network of 34 academies, incorporating primary, secondary and grammar, and special schools. They employ over 2000 people with the primary focus of raising the standards of education for 13,000 young people. Job Purpose:
- To support the leadership and management of the faculty team to secure effective teaching and learning and students’ progress and attainment
Successful Candidates:
- QTS or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge
- Ability to teach Maths curriculum across the key stages
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to plan strategically, to set out clear aims and objectives, and to manage transformational change effectively
- The ability to carry our rigorous self-evaluation and review, and to act on the findings in order to bring about improvement
- The ability to lead and manage individuals and teams so as to bring out the best in them and the best outcomes for students
- The ability to provide effective support to staff so as to ensure the maintenance of good conduct and relationships
