Job overview

A fabulous opportunity is awaiting you; the chance to support the design and shape of innovative and creative pedagogical practice in a new all-through academy as a Second in Department and Key Stage Coordinator of Maths.

King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) is now looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative Key Stage Coordinator of Maths to play an intrinsic role in our all-through academy in Bracknell Forest. At King’s Academy Binfield we have high expectations of our staff, but we value them highly.

Our all-through school opened in a superb new building in September 2018 and we have grown year on year. In addition to the secondary phase, we also have two primary phases set across two sites, King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) and King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO). From September 2023, we have students from year N to year 6 in primary and year 7 through to year 13. Our new 6th form provision, KAB6, opened in September 2023, we have our first cohort of year 13 students finishing this Summer, and are one of the largest departments at KS5 with A-Level Maths, Further Maths & Core Maths.

In partnership with the Director of Maths and Computing, the successful candidate will initially have responsibility for the leadership of maths at a key stage; ensuring outstanding teaching and curricular opportunities lead to outstanding outcomes. As the academies grow, there will be opportunities for exploring other elements of strategic leadership.

Applicants should be excellent classroom teachers and have the ability to motivate, inspire and lead staff and students to excel. The successful candidate will show great leadership potential, will be a team player, will get stuck in and involve themselves in the wider aspects of academy life. A genuine commitment to our ‘whatever it takes’ ethos is essential to enable every young person at KAB and KAO to thrive.

As a rapidly growing school, this is a rare and exciting opportunity for a skilful leader who can bring creativity, innovation and dynamism across the academies. Potential is just as important as experience.

King’s Academy Binfield and King’s Academy Oakwood are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

King's Academy Binfield is a new all-through school within The Kings Group Academies.

Our mission is to provide high quality education within a small community of outstanding schools in the UK that will deliver a transformative learning experience to all our students within the context of a global community of schools.

KGA has at its core the pursuit of the very highest standards both inside the classroom and beyond. We believe all students can exceed their expectations no matter what their prior attainment and experience. In a KGA academy no student will be labelled, we will treat them all as intelligent individuals. Through our ethos, our extended curriculum, our entrepreneurial approach and international dimension, we will ensure students develop into confident, rounded individuals, equipped for life in an ever changing world.

We pride ourselves on listening and responding to the needs of our partner schools and guarantee any school within KGA the opportunity to help shape the future development of our MAT. In a King’s Group Academy, pupils will be able to achieve their personal ambitions and academic goals, with the added advantage and motivation of working alongside peers from other King’s schools around the world.

At KGA our aim is to build clusters of excellence, blending the best of British education with the experience and success gained in our international King’s Group schools. We see staff as our most valuable resource and our innovative approach to CPD enables them to fulfil their career potential, as well as prepare our pupils for a successful future.

King’s Group was founded nearly 50 years ago by Sir Roger Fry and includes nine outstanding schools both abroad and in the UK. With this excellent foundation, King’s Group Academies has been invited by the DfE to develop a MAT and use the expertise of our team to build and provide ongoing support to small networks of outstanding academies.

We share a determination to make a positive difference to the future of our young people, their families and the wider community, as well as to the careers of our staff. This is your invitation to join us.
