About Fleetwood High School
Fleetwood High School
the school with a heart, in the town with a heart
Headteacher - Richard Barnes
Our modern state of the art school is in the coastal town of Fleetwood, conveniently located on the stunning Fylde coast local to Lytham, Thornton, Poulton-Le-Fylde and with great motorway links to the Lake District, Manchester and Liverpool; making our school accessible to and from all of these areas.
The Fylde area has been recognised as one of ‘The Best Places to Live’ in a recent Sunday Times guide, with Fylde and Wyre being comprised of many quaint towns and villages. Its historic streets are full of many fashionable independent shops, restaurants and public houses. For more information on the local area please visit:

The school is slightly larger than average (1060 on roll) and is growing fast as the popularity of the school in the local community grows. Pupil numbers have almost doubled over the last 5 years and we are now oversubscribed.
We are also proud to boast an average class size of just 26 pupils.
The school was judged to be ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2022 and has since continued on a further journey of rapid progress. These are exciting times for the school and it is an exciting time to be considering joining us. We are an associate member of Cidari Multi Academy Trust and, as such, we work closely and share values and approaches with St Georges C of E Academy in Blackpool and Baines School in Poulton-le-Fylde. We sometimes share staff, professional development and leadership opportunities.
We do things here the ‘Fleetwood Way’, and our HEART values are at the centre of all we do. We have always seen ourselves as one big family here at Fleetwood High School, and that is reflected in our extremely low rate of staff turnover. Our team recognise the potential possessed by all our children, and they go the extra mile to make sure they realise that potential. This is a school where you can make a real difference.
When people visit our school, they are really impressed with the facilities, the close working relationships between our staff members and most importantly our children. We always encourage visits from candidates, and our school tours are carried out by our Head Boy and Head Girl. We feel this is the best way for any potential candidate to get a real feel for our amazing school.
