We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, inspirational and exceptional teacher of science looking for their next steps in career progression who will support the Head of Science in providing a high quality science education for all our students.
The Woodlands Science department is extremely well resourced with a dedicated team of seven teachers supported by three technicians. In recent years, the department has shown significant improvements in curriculum design, effective and purposeful assessment and quality of teaching and learning - all contributing to an improvement of student outcome and an increase in numbers of students moving on to study the sciences at FE. We offer a full range of qualifications across KS4 including entry level, Combined Science Trilogy and Separate sciences. The department is highly collaborative, supportive and has established strong working relationships with a range of professional bodies. We run numerous extra-curricular activities including trips, Science Study Club and Science Club which is very well attended.
Woodlands is a small 11 to 16 school of great diversity, energy and creativity and is typified by its caring and supportive ethos. Our students enjoy school, the high-quality education they receive, the first-class facilities in our modern building and the strong relationships they form with the staff - we are proud that our recent Ofsted judgement of ‘good’ in all areas, also recognises this. We are a community that believes in lifelong learning and personal achievement. Our aim is to ensure that all students leave Woodlands successfully prepared and confident in exploring their next steps in their own journey. Our core values are “Respect, Responsibility and Resilience” and these underpin everything we do.
