Job overview

The school

Al Ain Academy is a 3-18 international school that operates a British system of Education based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales.

Our successful BSME through-school is led by a team of experienced British-trained professionals. Aldar Academies has an outstanding reputation in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and academic results are well above the national average for the UAE as well as the international average for similar schools.

Our multi-cultural environment and small class sizes offer an exceptional combination of the best of a well-rounded British education delivered within a truly international community; enriched by a variety of cultures that characterise our increasingly connected world.

Living in the UAE

The UAE offers a warm, sunny climate throughout the year and a central travel hub with excellent opportunities to experience the Middle East and Asia during school holidays.

The city of Al Ain has a large proportion of expats and as a result is extremely diverse. Expats can visit the souqs for spices, enjoy local food and drinks in the streets. There are various modern malls and outdoor adventures in and around the city; Al Ain is a great place to raise a family within a supportive community. Sporting activities at the nearby golf club, rugby club and equestrian club form a social hub for all. Al Ain is an hour and a half equidistant from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and 20 minutes from Oman uniquely allowing for weekends away in all directions.

Our English Department

Our English department is characterised by a strong ethos of collaboration and passion. We are an enthusiastic and committed team of 5 staff members, who teach across the Key Stages, both English Language, English Second Language and English Literature.

Our KS4 results for the last academic year were excellent: 100% of our cohort achieved Grades 9-5 in Literature and Grades 9-6 in Language with Edexcel IGCSEs.
