You must be a qualified teacher with relevant language certificates and credentials and have a minimum 2 years post qualification teaching experience.


Position Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced Secondary English Language teacher to join our dynamic teaching team. Teacher qualifications and a Bachelor degree are required, M.Ed. preferred. A minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience (preferably international experience) is required; IB experience/training and experience with curriculum review preferred. Fluent proficiency in English language is required. The ability to teach an additional subject area is an asset.


Duties and Responsibilities

● Planning and teaching English Arts and Humanities lessons to mixed age and ability learners

● Teach assigned curriculum as presented on Atlas Rubicon, update curriculum periodically and participate in school curriculum review cycles

● Assess learning against standards and regularly communicate with parents via PowerSchool

● Promote a student-centered learning environment where everyone is included and afforded the opportunity to succeed

● Participate in departmental meetings and activities and adhere to school-wide procedures and expectations

● Contribute to collaborative team planning and learning focused discussions

● Integrate technology into instruction where appropriate to enhance learning and differentiate instruction

● Participate in extracurricular activities

● Contribute to a positive and solution-focussed climate and work environment

● Other appropriate duties as assigned by the Head of Secondary


Qualifications and Training

● A degree plus teaching qualification (or equivalent)

● Higher degree or recognised professional qualification (preferred)

● Evidence of continued relevant professional development


Desirable Experience

● Previous experience teaching English Language 

● Familiarity with the International Secondary Years Curriculum

● Supporting learners beyond the classroom

● Teaching learners with diverse language and learning needs

● Teaching in a range of settings, ideally in an international school environment

● Using technology to enhance learning
