A rare opportunity has arisen to join our fantastic team. Reddish Hall is an outstanding school for students between the ages of 5 and 18 with complex educational needs and challenging behaviour. The school meets the needs of young people with social and emotional difficulties, though our students may face additional challenges and diagnoses including ADHD, ASC, SpLD, MLD, OCD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome or a variety of other conditions.
We are part of the Acorn Care and Education Group, the second largest private sector provider of special needs education in the country operating 19 schools for children and young people who have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism.
An enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of English is required for our secondary department. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons to small groups of KS3 and KS4 students, ensuring they make good or outstanding progress. You will develop literacy skills and help students gain appropriate qualifications, including GCSE. The successful candidate will have good knowledge of the range of qualifications available within English and the drive and ambition to ensure each individual student fulfils their potential. Experience of delivering GCSE would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be a highly committed team player with the resilience, energy and passion to develop the English curriculum in our forward-looking school. - Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
- Successful teaching experience of students with special education needs
- Experience of working with students who display challenging behaviour
- Ability to use ICT effectively for teaching
- Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children.
- Knowledge & understanding of the National Curriculum in order for successful planning and delivery
- The ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively
