This provides for a stimulating environment, where hard work and commitment are rewarded. We are committed to continuous improvement as individuals and as a school. If you want to join us on that journey, make a genuine difference to children’s lives and become a better teacher then please read on! We are proud to be one of few IB continuum schools in the UAE and uphold the IB philosophy in all that we do. The result is a community of students, parents and staff that are highly supportive of the aims of the school and work together to maximise opportunities for all. A strong focus on professional development and world-class facilities allow Uptown teachers to be imaginative and innovative when delivering the curriculum.
Due to expansion, we are seeking an outstanding Secondary Head of Inclusion to join our Secondary School. Candidates need to be enthusiastic about teaching their subject to students in an inclusive school setting. Experience of teaching post-16 courses is desirable but not essential. Experience of teaching MYP and DP is also desirable but not essential. We are looking for someone who is passionate about international education, creative in their thinking and a student of learning.
We are part of the Taaleem group of schools. Taaleem is the second largest provider of education in the region and a group that has an absolute focus on education. As a Taaleem teacher, you will join one of the largest, most respected education providers in the United Arab Emirates. Taaleem (which means ‘education’ in Arabic) was established in 2004 and now has over 9,000 students attending our ten international schools and pre-schools in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Taaleem is also one of the Middle East’s leading IB workshop providers for PYP, MYP, DP and CP. Taaleem is committed to inspiring students and helping them to identify and develop their passions and talents.
What do we look for?
All of our teachers must have either a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a PGCE or an equivalent qualification from around the world. Secondary school teachers and Primary specialists will also need a degree in the subject area that they wish to teach. Experience of teaching the IB programmes would be an advantage, as would experience of working in Dubai. However, a demonstrable alignment with the ethos of the IB and a genuine commitment to international-mindedness would compensate in many ways. Experience of using effective differentiation and assessment techniques are, however, essential.
What we offer
We are committed to developing our staff and run regular professional development workshops to ensure that our teachers are equipped to provide students with the best possible educational experience. Taaleem provides high-quality, purpose-built accommodation for teaching staff equipped with a gym, a pool and all amenities. We offer an attractive tax-free salary, medical insurance, free child places within selected schools and an annual flight allowance.
Living in the UAE

Its a great place to develop yourself professionally, while enjoying an enriching life outside of the workplace. At Taaleem we are proud and privileged to operate some of the leading schools in the UAE, led by outstanding teachers from all over the world. Our schools are located across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, catering to the British, IB and American curricula, so we always look for a diverse and inspiring teaching body who are looking to help educate and develop the future generations.
