St George’s College, Argentina was founded in 1898 and is a private, bi-lingual, co-educational school which follows the southern hemisphere academic calendar, starting in late February and finishing in December. The school has over 1,440 students on two sites, in Quilmes in the south of Buenos Aires and in Los Polvorines in the north of the city. There is one Board of Governors, but each site is run by its respective Headmaster who are both members of the overseas section of the Headmasters Conference (HMC).  Both sites are authorized for the IB PYP and  Diploma programmes and the IGCSE examinations. The North campus also offers the IB MYP. St George’s is a member of the Boarding Schools Association (BSA) and of the Latin American Heads Conference (LAHC), which groups together 42 schools on the continent of British origins and practices. St George’s maintains close links with the international community through student exchanges, besides overseas sporting and cultural tours and has over 20 staff recruited from the UK and other English speaking countries.

The school’s Mission is to provide students with a bilingual education that integrates the Argentine and International curricula. We strive for the continual improvement in the quality of the teaching and learning, management and school resources in order that students may develop their potential to the full. Our environment nurtures individual development, independent thinking, sportsmanship and an extensive and close interaction with the community.

Both schools have three sections, Kindergarten (3-6 years), Preparatory School (6-11 years) and Secondary (11-18 years).  Each section has its own Head and Senior Management Team and these are responsible to the overall Headmaster of the School for the day-to-day running and strategic development of their section. Whilst academic focus drives the school programme, attention is also centered on the physical, artistic, cultural, social and spiritual needs of our students. A further strength is the continuing commitment on the Quilmes site to high quality boarding.
