Founding Headteacher 

We are seeking an inspiring and committed leader to join our team in August 2023.  

Kings’ welcomes applications from outstanding and experienced Deputy Headteachers and Headteachers who have the vision and project management skills to lead our Secondary provision through its formative stages. 

Kings’ School Nad Al Sheba has recently added Key Stage 3 provision to its already very successful Primary School and will be implementing Key Stage 4 from August 2023. 

We seek a dynamic and collaborative educator to work with our talented team. Creative, passionate and a talented educator, the new Headteacher will lead by example and demonstrate a wholly inclusive approach to ensure that our students achieve outstanding outcomes in their academic and personal/social development at this exciting campus. 

The successful candidate is expected to lead the strategic direction for the Secondary School, resulting in a highly professional but also family feel community, excellent academic outcomes and exceptional facilities. The successful candidate will lead the school’s expansion and uphold our guiding principle of ‘The Best By Every Child.’ 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of the skills needed to lead in a climate of educational change and manage successfully the curriculum, staff and administration of highly successful and ambitious secondary education, including: 

  • Leading and managing teaching and non-teaching staff  
  • Leading and managing student progress and attainment 
  • Leading and managing resources 
  • Leading and managing a school community 


Essential Skills & Abilities: 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the English National Curriculum  
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and current educational developments in the UK and the UAE with particular reference to Dubai  
  • Experience and thorough understanding of skills, knowledge and understanding of the whole-school evaluation with particular reference to national/international school evaluation (e.g. Ofsted, COBIS, British School Overseas, KHDA, DSIB framework). 
  • Confident to lead the principles of assessment and effective record-keeping and their use to promote the educational and personal development of the students 
  • Implement sound procedures and establish clear policy to ensure good behaviour and discipline in the Primary with the cooperation of all students, members of staff, school partners and parents & wider stakeholder 
  • Able to foster a supportive, emotionally intelligent and caring environment for students and their families 
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences 
  • Able to balance priorities and manage self and resources effectively in getting tasks done within time constraints 
  • Demonstrates effective relationships with young people, staff, senior leadership teams, principal, school Governors, and Principals and Heads of Kings’ Schools at Kings’ Al Barsha & Kings’ School Dubai 
  • Ability to influence people and to work with individuals and within teams 
  • Evidence of leading Continuing Professional Development activities for teaching & non-teaching staff 
  • Ability to promote race equality and good race relations among people of different racial groups 
  • Ability to promote and understand the UAE National Agenda 
  • Ability to promote equality of opportunity 
  • Ability to lead effectively and motivate, involve and value the achievement of others 
  • Ability to balance directive and consultative styles and apply them appropriately in different situations 


Essential Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Successful teaching experience (at least 8 years), with proven track record of high achievement  
  • Experience as a School Leader either at Deputy Headteacher, Headteacher or Principal level in a successful secondary school 
  • Evidence of sustained personal, professional development in education leadership and management 
  • Evidence of successfully working in order to maximise the potential of all students, including those with special needs and talents, creatively seeking high standards and achievements 
  • To have completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship or equivalent (UK) or desire to do so 
  • Commitment to encouraging the professional development of yourself and all staff, including delegation of responsibility where appropriate and possible
