Amity International School in Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint outstanding UK trained Secondary School teachers for September 2017.

Due to further expansion, our premium school in Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint the next wave of experienced secondary teachers to join our happy, friendly school.

Initially Amity International School opened with 300 students from Foundation Stage through to Year 4. In September 2016, we expanded to Year 6 with 600 students and now in 2017 we will expand to a roll of 850, with students of Year 7 and Year 8.

Teaching staff:

The successful candidates at AIS will be experienced professionals with a thorough knowledge of the new UK National Curriculum. Staff need to have at least 4 years’ teaching experience post qualification and hold a Bachelor’s degree in the subject they are applying to teach. Candidates with the ability to teach a second secondary subject will be highly desirable, so please state clearly what else you could offer.

In fulfilling the requirements of the post, the successful candidate will demonstrate essential professional characteristics and in particular will:

  • Have excellent knowledge of history to GCSE level
  • Inspire trust and confidence in students, parents and colleagues
  • Ensure consistently high quality curriculum delivery of their subject as well as well-defined learning outcomes for students
  • Maintain high standards in planning and classroom delivery alongside well considered  use of assessment and IT
  • Be committed to creating a stimulating, learning environment for the students
  • Be passionate about young people and their education
  • Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school
  • Be firm but fair and have a happy disposition
