Safa Community School is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Secondary Inclusion Support Teacher for to join our highly successful Secondary School.

Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an Inclusion Teacher, who is passionate about working with Students of Determination. We are looking for a teacher who is driven by personalising their approach to children’s learning and supporting students to overcome barriers so they can reach their full potential in school and beyond.

The successful candidate will be required to assist students on either an individual, small group or in-class basis. The role will involve tracking and monitoring student targets, developing IEPs and learning profiles for Students of Determination. This dynamic and innovative individual must be keen to work as part of a successful team, be interested in progression within the inclusion department and support our inclusive ethos in personalising learning for our Students of Determination.

The successful candidate will have experience in teaching in Secondary school and a strong knowledge and understanding of how to effectively support learners experiencing literacy difficulties. The ability to plan and deliver personalised interventions to meet the needs of students in a fully inclusive environment is essential.

A SENco qualification is desirable but not a requirement.

 

The responsibilities of the Inclusion Teacher will include but will not be limited to the following:

  •  To work alongside teachers and Head of Inclusion to identify learning needs .
  • To plan, prepare and deliver personalised provision and interventions.
  • To work alongside class teachers to support and enhance the inclusive learning experience for students in their class.
  • To identify and set targets to enable learners to maximise their progress.
  • To observe and support in class as required to ensure the implementation of strategies to support students.
  • To facilitate parent meetings to update, guide and advice parents.
  • To review and analyse student data in order to effectively adjust support in response to learning needs.
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and attainment of Students of Determination.
  • To develop and input into the IEP process as part of the team around the child.
  • To carry out screeners and internal assessments for identifying, assessing, and reviewing students.
  • To undertake administration, including updating and maintaining records of students’ progress.
  • To support students with social, emotional and communication difficulties.

  

Education and Experience

  • SENCo or equivalent desirable
  • Recent professional development in specific learning difficulties
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or recognised teaching qualification
  • Secondary teaching experience with students who have special educational needs.
  • Confidence in using assistive technology to maximise the students' learning experience.

  2. Submit a full resume / CV.   
  3. Submit a covering letter of no more than two A4 pages.   
  4. Provide at least three referees’ names, telephone numbers (with international dialling codes), and email addresses. One must be a current employer.   
  5. The closing date for all applications is Friday, 7th April  2023 at 12 noon UAE time. However, applications will be processed as received, and initial interviews will be arranged for successful candidates as applications are received.   
  6. Once initial interviews are concluded, arrangements will be made individually with those candidates who will proceed to the second round of interviews. A demonstration lesson may be required.
